Benefits of a Longer Senior Session

A common question when booking a senior session is, do I need more than 1 hour? A quick answer to that is more time equals a greater variety of photos that you will receive. For example, standing in front of one background and simply changing your poses doesn’t make a lot of sense. During your session, we will be moving around to create a variety in backgrounds, poses and lighting, which takes time. Do you want to use more than one location? Traveling to multiple locations takes time. If you are an athlete, you might want some of your photos at the sports field, or gym wearing your uniform. This leads to the next example of more outfits leads to more variety of photos. Changing outfits takes time. See the pattern here?

For a 1-hour session one location works great. There’s enough time to create a variety of photos and two outfits can work within the time. If this sounds like what you want, then a 1-hour session will work great.

If you want more than one location, then it’s a good idea to look at a 2-hour or 3-hour session. Travel time is a part of your session time, unless you pick a 3-hour session. So if multiple locations are not close together this can make this choice easier. Obviously when more than one location is used, it’s because you want more variety in your photos.
